SAVE Plan Exit Checklist

Find your real deadline, compare your options, apply, and keep a paper trail of every confirmation number, call and bill until your new plan is in place.

A court order ended the SAVE Plan in March 2026. Your servicer's notice sets your deadline: 90 days from that notice to pick a plan. If you miss it, the servicer sends a final 30-day notice, then places you in the Standard or Tiered Standard plan (StudentAid.gov).
